At the end of November we welcomed a delegation of the Mayors of Amsterdam and Haarlem, as well as heads of 18 regional companies, to our AMS1 carbon neutral data center in the Netherlands.
Eberhard van der Laan, Mayor of Amsterdam and Chair of the Amsterdam Economic Board, joined Bernt Schneiders, Mayor of Haarlem and our Managing Director Eric Boonstra to discuss drivers for economic growth in the Greater Amsterdam region.
There are many different steps we take here at EvoSwitch to help our customers get their datacenter service up-and-running, from the initial consultation right through to installation, always supported by our friendly customer service team.
At EvoSwitch, delivering a quality colocation service is dependent on the requirements of the individual customer. All our customers have different IT requirements; from financial services customers that look for certification and reliability, to hosting providers that want strong, quality bandwidth and enabled flexibility.
This process of identifying customer requirements starts with an initial consultation to really get under the skin of what the customer is looking for in terms of their IT environment. We make every effort to get to know the companies we work with, and draw on our experience to support our recommendations. We ideally like to invite new customers to visit our datacenters for an initial face-to-face meeting; this helps engagement with the process and allows customers to raise any questions or queries first hand.
An example of this process is the consultation that took place between EvoSwitch and Codemasters, the developer and worldwide publisher of entertainment software. When Codemasters appointed EvoSwitch, our first step was to invite them to our datacenter in Haarlem for a face-to-face meeting, where we had a chance to ask Codemasters everything we needed to know about their infrastructure requirements. We soon learnt that these requirements were hugely influenced by the demands of gamers, and therefore included features such as a reliable uptime, connectivity and redundancy.

EvoSwitch is recognized as one of the most energy-efficient datacenters in Europe. In addition to being climate neutral, the datacenter is also carrier neutral. Ourcustomers already have a choice of more than 35 international carriers, with thisnumber set to increase to over 50 on-site carriers by the end of the year. Thisensures we provide the best available options in connectivity to our customers, who in turn then prioritize their telecom providers and build a global infrastructurethat really fulfills their requirements best.
Choice in connectivity is absolutely critical to companies looking for a trulyredundant infrastructure. Our datacenter is conveniently located in the Amsterdamregion next to one of the largest internet hubs in the world, AMS-IX, and is thusclosely connected to a large number of trans-Atlantic fibers. And thanks to therising number of supplying carriers, connectivity within the datacenter is alsosignificantly increasing. Carrier neutrality means independency and transparencyfor customers, ensuring they have real freedom of choice in working with a provideror even a combination of providers. This way customers can get the best globalinfrastructure and connectivity, rather than just being able to choose from a selectfew.
We are happy to welcome Level3 to EvoSwitch Datacenter. Level3 provides a comprehensive suite of connectivity services and have signed a contract with EvoSwitch to start delivering from our datacenter
Connectivity within datacenters significantly increases with the number of carriers. We now house over 35 carriers at our location in Haarlem, including carriers such as Global Crossing, euro fiber, BT, KPN, Tele2 and Cogent. By the end of this year we expect to house more than 50 carriers on-site, ensuring customers the best available options in connectivity. With the addition of Level 3, we are well on our way to reach that target.
