EvoSwitch Datacenter design and adiabatic cooling discussed DataCenterDynamics Amsterdam conference
Jan Wiersma, our Technical Director, attended the DataCenterDynamics conference in Amsterdamon tuesday. The finest brains in the industry gathered there to discuss the future of the datacenter industry, changing customer requirements, and the latest technical advances. It was a great opportunity for the industry to share ideas and learn from each other.
Jan was one of the key speakers on new datacenter design, and specifically talked about developments in cooling techniques, such as adiabatic cooling. This technique cools outside air when it enters the the datacenter (or datacenter module), as opposed to traditional cooling methods which chill entire rooms. As you can understand, this is a much more energy-efficient way of cooling, leading to PUEs of 1.2 and lower.
Rolling out of new Evoswitch datacenters across Europe. The Datacenter Developer will design and implement regional expansion for a growing data center company. Focus will be on activities relating to site acquisition of Greenfield development and modification or expansion of new and/or existing datacenter facilities in addition to preparing the suppliers for data center operations.
Job responsibilities include:
Supports management in the formulation, analysis and implementation of datacenter and expansion strategies.
Develops and executes process for identifying, evaluating and acquiring real estate to support the growth strategy
Project manages implementation of multiple site searches while continually looking for ways to improve the acquisition process
Manages vendors as required to meet site selection needs
