Datacenter design and adiabatic cooling

EvoSwitch Datacenter design and adiabatic cooling discussed DataCenterDynamics Amsterdam conference

Jan Wiersma, our Technical Director, attended the DataCenterDynamics conference in Amsterdamon tuesday. The finest brains in the industry gathered there to discuss the future of the datacenter industry, changing customer requirements, and the latest technical advances. It was a great opportunity for the industry to share ideas and learn from each other.

Jan was one of the key speakers on new datacenter design, and specifically talked about developments in cooling techniques, such as adiabatic cooling. This technique cools outside air when it enters the the datacenter (or datacenter module), as opposed to traditional cooling methods which chill entire rooms. As you can understand, this is a much more energy-efficient way of cooling, leading to PUEs of 1.2 and lower.
